The Statement Necklace

Guest Blogger: Dash from Mode Lily.

Hello lovely readers of Jasmine’s blog! I hope you’re all well! When Jasmine asked me to write a post on her blog about anything I love, I couldn’t say no…the main reason, I’m a regular reader of her posts, so I feel extremely privileged! I’m a Leeds blogger (my blog is called Mode Lily) and I cover a number of areas focusing on fashion, beauty and some bits and bobs about lifestyle. So ladies sit back and enjoy!

I’ve decided write this article about a topic that I believe is very close to any of us girls! The Statement necklace! There has never been a better time, with the sunny days upon us, when we are throwing the piles of jumpers, cardis and scarves off faster than the speed of light! This is the best time to show off our latest accessories!

If you’re in any way like me, you’ve probably been browsing online shops for some time now. If your budget is as tight as mine, you’ve probably been bulging your eyes out when you see the asking price of £20 and above for a necklace. Seriously, I look like….. So I’m going to try to show you that a chic and classy statement necklace doesn’t have to cost you an arm and a leg.

There are plenty of high street stores that are affordable. My favourite ones must be New Look (as my no.1) and Dorothy Perkins. I should never forget to mention the sacred word: SALE! I never dare miss one at Warehouse, Oasis, Zara or Monsoon! They have a good quality jewellery that can make you feel like a spoilt princess.

Today I’m featuring some of my favourite pieces and for some reason most of them are from New Look. They have all been acquired over the last 3-4 months, so still quite bang on trend. I’ve also tried to sum up some of my rules on how to wear a statement necklace:

· I like to team them with a collared blouse, buttoned all the way up to the top while wearing the necklace underneath the collar, this gives a nice fashionable effect. This must be my favourite look at the moment.

· If you want to look like a fashion forward person, style your statement necklace with a blazer. You will look chic, classy and playful!

· I love bright tones, if you are not scared of creating the WAUW effect, go for one, not only will you look great, but it will also makes your complexion look bright and healthy. Double whoop whoop!

· If you want a necklace that can be styled with most of your clothes, go for metal. I have two gold with white hues (see below), New Look and Monsoon Accessories.

Have you got any rules on how to wear a statement necklace? Let Jasmine and me know in the comments below and thanks for reading!!

  1. I love all the necklaces you've picked! It is completely insane how much some statement necklaces can cost, but your picks are not only beautiful but also the prices aren't too crazy :) thanks for sharing! X

  2. Oh, it's lovely to see a fellow Leeds blogger here, I've just had a cheeky look at your blog and it's stunning.

I love statement necklaces also, I've get to find the perfect blouse to pair the few I have with, though!

  3. Wow, this is so amazing that you post in two languages. The time and effort it must take! I usually wear quite plain clothes (i.e. jeans and vest top) so I have to jazz up my outfit with accessories and make up and I am a huge fan of the statement necklace.

Thank you for finding my blog by the way. I know this is a guest post but I just wanted to say somewhere that you will be able to read my comment that you should give those other Brit shows a go if you ever have the time. They are good programmes for just relaxing after a day at work. Rosemary x
