Kate Upton and the Curvy Issue

Kate Upton is a gorgeous curvy girl. Maybe some of you will disagree with me on Kate being curvy. In my opinion, “curvy” means a girl/woman with curves or who is (a little) overweight. Retailers are now aware of curvy customers and offer a wider range of sizes. You can find today’s items at Victoria’s Secret or Mango. By the way, Mango is being the subject of controversy in Spain, because it has launched a new collection with “special sizes”. The smaller size in this collection is a Medium. What do you think about this? Do you believe a Medium is a “special size?

Kate Upton, curvy, Mango, VS

On the one hand, I’m not sure that Mango considers a Medium as a special size. Maybe they just want to attract curvy customers providing them with cool clothes. For instance, the size of this chiffon dress ranges from Extra Small to Extra Large.

On the other hand, I consider that most models are too skinny. Do we really want to be like them? Not me. I love curves. Curves are gorgeus, aren’t they?

Thanks for reading this article. I’d love if you leave your comments on this subject. I’m interested in your opinion.

Vuestra opinión me interesa mucho.

  3. This is a great post Jasmine and wow, Kate Upton is stunning, I've never really seen many pictures of her before.

I'm not a huge fan of the word 'curvy' because the media seem to use it to make women feel guilty about not being stick thin.

It's good of Mango to offer products that range from extra small to extra large as a lot of retailers don't offer a large range of sizes.

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Rosie! For me, curvy is a word with positive connotations. I don't consider anorexic models cute.
