Five New Year’s Resolutions

Happy 2014! I hope you all have enjoyed New Year’s Eve.  Since this is the first post of 2014, I want to share my 5 New Year’s resolutions with you. This is the last post of a series on NYE. The other posts are:

I’d love if you check them out.

I’ve created a vintage-inspired set to illustrate my New Year’s resolutions. I want to:

1. Spend more quality time with my family.

Maybe you don’t know that I’m the mom of 3 little kids. So far, they think I’m the best mom in the world. I love it! However, time passes by quickly and I want to enjoy every minute of them.

2. Get a dog.

My children and husband are craving for a pet. Me too! But they are divided: two of them want a dog; the other two want a bunny. I’m the one to tip the scales. The sad thing about animals is that they don’t live very long. This has been restraining me from gettining a pet. What do you think about this?

3. Go on blogging.

Blogging makes me very happy. I’ve found a wonderful community of bloggers and followers. Thanks for visiting this blog and reading my posts.

4. Improve my little Italian and German knowledge.

Years ago, I studied Italian for some time. I really enjoyed it and want to resume Italian learning. On the other hand, I started learning German last year. I must admit it’s the most difficult language I’ve ever studied. I find it more difficult than French or English. By the way, I’m a Switzerland-born Spaniard. This means that I LOVE languages. I’m a translator too and am about to launch a site on easy Spanish. I'll let you know about this.

5. Indulge myself a little.

I’ve been working too much lately. I’m afraid of becoming workaholic. I ask my partner to tell me off if I’m in front of my PC for too long. So, I’m determined to take some spare time and do things I love: reading, going to the cinema, going for a walk, having a cup of coffee with a friend…

Later in the year, I’ll let you know if I get these resolutions/goals. Please, tell me your New Year’s resolutions.

I’ve posted on my 2013 positivesMaybe you want to check them out. This post is featured on Share it Sunday at Oh So Amelia.

Cinco propósitos de Año Nuevo

¡Feliz 2014!

¡Me encanta!

Me toca a mi decidir.

3. Seguir con este blog.

Lo disfruto mucho. Además, he conocido a blogueras y seguidora estupendas.

Me gustó mucho y quiero retomarlo.

  2. Great resolutions! I don't really have any :/

    1. Thanks! If you don't have any resolution, maybe you don't need to change anything. That's good! xx

  3. Yes, wonderful resolutions! I'm still thinking about what mine might be.. haha :)

  4. Happy New Year, Jasmine!! These are such great resolutions!! :) I definitely, definitely would recommend that your family get a pet. I had rabbits while growing up and always loved them but they are a bit hard to take care of (especially with young children) and they usually just stay in their cage. Still, one of my rabbits was a happy rabbit and I loved him so much and he was so healthy that he lived to be 12 years old. Then a few years ago, I got a dog and I am so so happy I did. I adopted him from an animal shelter which made me so happy because I knew that I had saved his life (I only wish I could've adopted his sister and his mother, as well- I hope they were adopted). And since my dog is small, I'm able to take him pretty much everywhere, I travel a lot with him and he sleeps at the end of my bed and I walk him nearly everyday, so I feel that I really have a close companion- nearly human, almost! :) I've also heard that little dogs tend to live the longest- sometimes up to 20 years, if they're really taken care of! I don't know if this is available where you live but here we have the option to foster an animal before we commit to adopting it. This helps us to get to know the animal and really get a sense of what it will be like living with it. I wish you best of luck in your hunt for a pet- I would also suggest to really research animals before you get one and if it's a dog, make sure he's super socialized (I made this mistake with mine- when he was a puppy he didn't get properly socialized so now he's fearful of many things).

    1. Happy New Year, sweetie! Thanks for stopping by and sharing with me. My brother has two rabbits and he is really happy with them. However, I prefer a dog. I want to take one from an animal shelter (a friend told me about this too). Anyway, 12, 15 or 20 years is still short time for me. I'm sure we are going to consider our pet as part of our family. Thanks again! xx

  5. Wow, I didn't know you were a mom! I'm impressed you have enough time to raise 3 kids and blog. I say get the pet. Children learn how to care for someone else and it will make them (and you!) happy. Pets are good for mental health.

    1. Thanks for stopping by! In summer we'll probably get the pet. I prefer a dog to a rabbit. I'll let you know :)

  6. Hi, you have wonderful blog and great post, did we follow each other already? if not, would you like to follow each other? if you decided to follow me on BLOGLOVIN, please let me know so I can follow you back! thank you.

  7. Go dog! :D We have a 4yo brindle boxer and he's a bit part of our family - the children adore him

    1. Thanks for stopping by! We'll probably get a dog by the summer.

  8. I would loove to get a dog too! Wishing you a very happy 2014
